Humble Beginnings
Diamond & Diamond Lawyers is a family-run business. David Diamond, Jeremy’s uncle, founded the firm over 30 years ago.
From the start, the firm aimed to put clients first. As a result, the firm provided legal services with a personal touch.
After advertising rules changed in 1987, the firm boosted its marketing efforts. Jeremy Diamond saw this as an opportunity to expand the firm’s legal footprint.
He wanted to bring their unique client-first approach to more sites in the country. He believed that an expansion could let them help more people in need.
The company prides itself on providing a sympathetic ear to clients. Diamond believes that this is what the clients need most to seek justice.
Now, Jeremy, his wife Sandra Zisckind, and Isaac Zisckind lead the firm.
The law firm began in a single office with five employees. It operates more than twenty offices with a team of more than 200 lawyers and support staff.
Diamond led the law firm’s expansion across several Canadian provinces. He also expanded the firm’s legal services to include:

- Wills and estates
- Class-action lawsuits
- Civil litigation
- Immigration
“I wanted our brand to go beyond the status quo, so we took advantage of multiple marketing techniques and communicated directly to our target market,” Diamond said.
Successful Cases
One of the things that contributed to the firm’s success is its high-profile cases. Over the years, Diamond & Diamond handled high-profile legal cases with poise and success.
One of the firm’s famous cases is the 2014 York University shooting. A lot of students suffered injuries when a shooting took place at the university food court.
Diamond & Diamond alleged a pattern of negligence and sued for $20.5M.
This highlights the law firm’s commitment to fighting the good fight for clients.
In 2019, the company also took on a $500M lawsuit against the makers of the herbicide Roundup. In the same year, the firm filed a $350M class-action lawsuit against Capital One.
The lawsuit was a result of a breach of sensitive data that affected six million Canadians.
